For well over a century, Layne Christensen Company has been drilling deep to bring vital natural resources to the surface. Today they use the 21st century’s most advanced technologies to locate and produce water, minerals and energy – all essential to people’s lives every day.

Water Resources

Layne Christensen’s Water Resources Division provides a full line of water-related services and products including hydrological studies, site selection, well design, drilling and well development, pump installation, and repair and maintenance. The division’s offerings include the design and construction of water treatment facilities and the manufacture and sale of products to treat volatile organics and other contaminants such as nitrates, iron, manganese, arsenic, radium and radon in groundwater.

With the acquisition of Reynolds in September 2005, Layne expanded its capabilities in the areas of the design and build of water and wastewater treatment plants, Ranney collector wells, sewer rehabilitation and water and wastewater transmission lines.

Energy

Layne Energy Inc. is a fully integrated unconventional resource exploration and production company. With over 400 wells currently in the Mid-Continent Cherokee Basin, Layne Energy provides both a significant earnings stream as well as a continued opportunity for value growth.

As Energy continues to gain importance in world trade, Layne Energy provides a platform to exploit the Company's specialized exploration and development knowledge.

Mineral Exploration

Layne Christensen’s Mineral Exploration Division provides a complete range of drilling services for the mineral exploration industry. Their aboveground and underground drilling activities include all phases of core drilling, diamond, reverse circulation, dual tube, hammer and rotary airblast methods.

Layne is one of the three largest providers of drilling services for the global mineral exploration industry. Global mining companies hire them to extract samples from a site that the mining companies analyze for mineral content before investing heavily in development. Their drilling services require a high level of expertise and technical competence because the samples extracted must be free of contamination and accurately reflect the underlying mineral deposit.

GeoConstruction

Layne Christensen's GeoConstruction Division provides services to the heavy civil construction market that are focused primarily on ground modification and specialized structural support. Layne GeoConstruction's expertise has been integral to the successful completion of numerous civil, industrial and commercial construction projects, including, major structures, dams, tunnels, shafts, utilities, and other civil facilities. GeoConstruction services are used to improve weak and unstable soils and provide support and groundwater control for excavation.

Services offered include jet grouting, micropiles, vibratory ground improvement, construction drilling, compaction grouting and anchors.
